Would an 2V preamp voltage CD reciever work well with a Kicker Solobaric L7? Which type of amp would i need?

I got an Alpine cda-9884 cd head unit with 2 Volts Preamp Voltage and im wondering if this would work well with some Kicker Solo-Baric L7 12" subs?

What type of amp would i need?

  1. This is kind of tough to explain.

    The preamp voltage doesn't really come into play until it gets to the amplifier. With 2 volts you shouldn't have a problem with almost any amp. Most are made to accept .1-5 volts.

    This is where it get's a little more complicated. In order for for the amp to work efficiently at it's rated RMS power, you have to match the input sensitivity of the amp with the preamp voltage. You do this by properly adjusting the gain.

    So, If you look for an amp that meets the rated RMS power of the subs, you won't really have a problem.
