Would an AFL ball fall in half if you cut the stiches around the edges?

Just wondering if an Australian rules football would separate into 2 perfect pieces if I cut the one of the two stitches that go around the whole ball.

For the purpose of using it in a design piece, pretty much.

No because the ball is made up of four sections and there is a bladder inside which is full of air. If you were cutting it up I would advise you to avoid cutting the bladder because the compressed air would explode.
