Everyone who was saying McCain being a PoW was no big deal, and so what, had to endure what he did so they could understand that it is a big deal and he should be respected for it?

If it werent for those willing to serve our country, you wouldnt be able to exercise your right to bad mouth them. Have some respect people.

  1. You are correct. McCain did go through a lot as a POW, but does that qualify a man to become the next leader of the free world? NO!

  2. Right on!! I agree 100% and I think that being a war veteran does give him special insight into decision making especially in this day and age when it seems so many countries have a hatred for America.

  3. gee, i don't remember anyone saying that McCain was less than a war hero.

i do remember people saying that having been a POW does not qualify one to be president.

    they are very different things.

as for qualifications, what might we look for?

economy?  McCain has said he's not really up on economics.

the world?  McCain seems to think the Iran is next to Pakistan.  (or so he said, not long ago.)

Americans?  "The fundamentals of our economy are strong".  (maybe not.)

there are many more such.  social security.  abortion.  evolution.  taxes.  Iraq.

we're not talking about honoring veterans.

we are talking about running the country.

there is little, if any, relation between the two.

  4. I have a nephew in Iraq, and those comments do the military no good as he and his fellow troops tell our family.

It is appreciated hearing that some of the younger generation see military service as respectable.

    Great comment and point.

  5. Yeah..even the Democratic nominees understand that what he did is no small feat.   It's too bad their followers don't seem to take after their master.

  6. Personally I think they should have to serve their County in some capacity, or another. Gas, Grass, or *** nobody rides for free, should be Americas new motto. Then maybe Americans will respcet this Country and the men and women who have fought for the Freedom they take for granted. Democrat for the True America Hero John McCain 2008.

  7. I would never diss McCain for serving.  His policies are another matter.

  8. I think McCain is a wonderful person and would make a great leader. He already knows what it is like to endure pain and heartache for our country in order for it's protection. I think that it adds to my opinion of him.

  9. Sure is refreshing to hear someone your age that can appreciate a veteran. You could teach some of your elders a thing or two.

  10. I have finally come to believe that Obama supporters are deep and logical thinkers...

I mean, it makes PERFECT sense to belittle a man who served with those who bled and died for our freedom while, in the same breath, idolizing an idiot who launched his campaign from the home of a known terrorist who BOMBED the US CAPITOL.

  11. As a Vet, I say thank you.
