Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One could make a "best" claim for many horses. For me it was Shergar in the Derby.

No , the best ever race was when Roberto won the Benson and Hedges Gold Cup at York circa 1973

No, it was an awesome race, but there are better ones in my eyes. Barbaro in the 2006 Derby. It was amazing how he just came from being in the front, and just buzzed past all the others. He was an amazing horse. It is really sad he is no longer with us.

The best flat race in my opinion. I'm looking at the painting of it on my wall now.  Dancing Brave was exceptional but I still can not believe the ride that Greville Starkey gave him in the Derby.  In fact its spoiled my Sunday lunch just thinking about it!
