  1. been there, done that and got the tee shirt. It is very expensive with lots of training schools taking financial advantage of people. They dont tell you how epensive it all is from the beginning and that if you fail three tests you are out on yopur ear with lots of debt. They also push the earnings of about £30, 000 a year what they dont tell you is that to earn that much you would never have any time left for your self. They also dont tell you how much they charge for the right to use their car and offices to get the work in the first place. Think about the cost of fuel, tax, and insurance because all of that has to come from your nominal £30000 pounds too. Then of course there is your own taxation on your earnings and national insurance costsMy advise, dont go there.

  2. do it you can maybe met someone

  3. Why would you want to work every hour under the sun to earn a living wage with your life and car at risk every minute of it?

  4. Don't do it!!!!!!

Don't get drawn in by the adverts saying "you cold be earning up to £30,000 a year"

I'm sorry but that is complete and utter..........pants!!!

The only way you can earn that is if you work about 60 hours per week!! And in order to  work 60 hours, you need to have the pupils!

Supply and demand - there are SOOOOOO many people becoming driving instructors these days that supply is on the increase - unfortunately demand has stayed the same!!

Have a look around and coun the number of driving schools offering cheap lessons - first 5 for £50 etc... that's not even covering the fuel!!!

    The competition is fierce!!

I trained and worked with BSM for 4 months - I was working about 30 hours and was coming out with just over £100 per week - oh and i had to pay fuel out of that too.....oh yeah, and tax and NI!!!

I have been on my own now for over a year and it is a constant worry where my next pupils are going to come from!

I have stuck to the BSM policy of 2hour lessons, therefore meaning I only need half the number of pupils, but when one passes, i lose £40 a week! When you consider my car costs me £360 per month, then there's fuel, tax, insurance, servicing etc...

I'm not exactly rolling in it when i take out my tax and NI, I have to pay for my partner and our 9 month old baby - money doesn't go far!

I have done the maths and realised that we would be better of if i didn't work and claimed benefits!

  5. This job has very unsociable hours.

Much of your work will be at the weekends and in the evenings. Your girlfriend may become bored and stray!

  6. i have some now

    and they love their job

so i guess it might be fun

they are pretty old though (40's and 50's)
