You try to brainstorm, and write a story, you remember the scathing words of a past writing teacher who said, "children's stories shouldn't be poetic", I began to feel despairing, as though I could not connect with one of the chief reasons why I write, the screams and strange sounds made by children across the street, seem more intense. Would you find it difficult to keep on writing, or is this more an issue of writer's discipline?

  1. To tell you the truth, some poets worked their best in disruption. If you couldn't connect with the chief reason why you write, i think it's a problem within rather than from the outside. The moment one has found one's calling, other words or voices, painful or not, cease to matter that much. Coz what you wrote is a part of you, try to deny that would be foolish. It takes time and honesty to believes in oneself, but once one achieve that, Those sceams and strange sounds made by children across the street could be a commotion that you might take joy and inspiration.

  2. I don't understand what you are asking. Are you saying that the children's noise is distracting you? Do you speak English as a second language. I f I heard your voice speaking I would probably understand what you mean, but without the inflections your grammar leaves a lot to be desired for communication.

Why shouldn't children's stories be poetical? I think that is so patronizing.
