Like a small black powder charge in a pill bottle, if someone were to burry it about 6-8 inches underground would it absorb the blast?

  1. Rate of detonation is most important. It is rated at feet per second. High explosives are rated at thousands of feet per second. At that depth and it's rate of burning you will have a heaving effect. It will push the earth up and throw up the shards of the container that you had placed it in. I would not recomend you doing any of this because what your trying to do is very dangerous. Why not find something more constructive to spend your time with? Why not go to your local fire department have have them explain the dangers of explosives and pyrotechnics? Please do not go out and do something stupid Ok?
