  1. not really but if your in doubt  order 1 for 20 bucks online


  2. If you are having trouble getting up on top, it will be a big help, also if you have a jumping problem it will help out.

  3. 50 horses ain't much for 17 feet.

    general rule, hydroplanes are good for underpowered boats, which you may have one of.

  4. Can you tell me the make, model and weight of your boat? is the motor 2 or 4 stroke?  Big difference!

  5. Yes have used them many time help get on on plane quicker>make sure it turning up the correct RPM wide open>
