  1. No...certain things are not possible in some areas.

I live in WI, and it is far too cold to grow citrus here. Likewise, how much corn or wheat do you think can be grown in Delaware or Rhode Island? Not enough to feed the residents...

  2. I believe in buying locally at the Farmer's Markets and other garden stores in spring and summer, but there's no way I will ever be able to eat another orange, banana or grapefruit if I just buy locally.

I live in the upper Midwest where it gets really cold.

  3. No...why? because Global Warming is just a multi billion dollar scam thought up by Al Gore and his minions.

What you should do, is respect Mother Nature...don't throw trash where it doesn't belong, always clean up after yourself and you know what, sure, buy foods and goods from local owners...why? because it'll help their economy, and ours, to grow.

  4. yes and no. it can save on transport but if the plants require heating (eg heated greenhouses) it may be better for you to import your food.

  5. yes it would. local foods don't have to be shipped long distances to reach your dinner plate. buy not shipping long distances, it will cut down the emissions caused by trucks.
