If so, does anyone know of any shop in Hamburg which would sell Strings and rosin?

  1. If I were to guess, no.  The sales tax in Germany is 19%.  If it is massively massed produced in Germany, but rarely imported (Cuckoo clocks, Beer Steins) or expensive to import (like wine and beer) then it is possibly cheaper here in Germany.

Try finding a violin store on-line from Germany.  When you find it, go to Google, click on Language tools and put the link in the translate web page.  Maneuver to a price.  I do that often here.
