Question:

Would cereal (cheerios) be a good choice of a breakfast before working out?

or would oatmeal...or even pancakes and eggs maybe but i dont want that much food. when i make pancakes i always make two huge ones and three eggs. then again when i eat cheerios i always eat about 4 cups of them haha

but basically whats a good breakfast to eat before working out.?

  1. If you're working out for a long period of time cheerios wouldn't be a good idea because they are simple carbs and only provide energy that is relaeased quickly and doesnt last. They have alot of sugar which getss you going but doesnt keep you going over a long period of time. You need something to sustain you so yes oatmeal is a better option, or muesli or a similar cereal. Fruit is also a good idea, just dont over eat so that you end up feeling too full and sluggish


  2. You need protein and carbs together. Eat eggs, and pancakes. Eggs have the second fastest digesting protein, but first is protein supplements. Protein are for rebuilding muscle tissue and Carbs fuel your workout to help you lift more. You need protein and carbs to build muscle mass. They both rely on each other.

  3. cheerios is okay, make sure to eat protein within 30 - 60 minutes after the workout to help restore muscle tissue.  Try to limit to about 1 1/2 cups, 4 is a bit much:-)

  4. 1 small pancake and 1 egg

  5. i would workout than eat if you are trying to lose weight. vise verse if you are trying to gain weight.

    i would eat 2 eggs with no mayo on 2 slices of whole grain bread.

    then as late morning, go for yogurt or power bar. normal lunch.

  6. Yes ... Cheerios are a great cereal to eat.  They help lower cholesterol (as much as oatmeal) and have very little sugar.  Add some berries or sliced peaches on top too .....  Pancakes and eggs are good too.   Cheerios are probably the best though, since they're a lighter breakfast and you don't want to work out on a full stomach.......
