Would dark blue hair dye cover over red?

Heyy. Right now I have a brightish red colour in my hair. Today I purchased a dark "velvet blue" hair dye, and I was wondering if I dyed it, would it cover the red?

Hmmmmm? I don't think so it might turn purple or a different color. :)

for the most part it will

buuuut it might have sort of a purplish tint.
