Would doubling up on my rubber bands (for braces) do anything bad?

Question

i'm a week away from getting my braces off.

and i'm worried since every day i go at least 5 hours without my rubber bands on that my bite won't be good enough to get my braces off.

would wearing extra rubber bands do good or bad?

I have braces too, and I double my rubber bands when I sleep at night.  My mom works at an ortho. office and says it wont hurt as long as you don't wear them doubled ALL of the time.
