Would giving a greater latitude to less agressive demands upon Burma smooth the way to assisting better?

I remember how America was hurting during 9/11 and even Indonesia during Acheh's Tidal wave. The left side of the brain throbs in pain, the folks at the top fumble in self blame with why on my watch? Mayor Ruddolf Julliani, what a guy, who can forget his steadfast stoic tenacity to implement disaster recovery? But in Burma we have the added emphasis of a kind of 4th world paranoia, you have to allow space to not demand, peace to calmly sympathetically approach not all out demands but softly gentily come alongside to nurture the hurt and comfort before demands to assist are met. Pride is not about face, but friendship, sometimes in the past, the world has been less than friendly to approach at short notice an all out assistance.

Can you picture it really is easier to give than recieve? Burma is hurting at high level leadership, state TV shows the Leader making the effort to help perhaps encouragement of these clips world wide and a quiet achiever approach is needed?

  1. Bravo, Phil.

It seems as if Burma is holding on for dear life to their pride. Is this not similar to a man who may perhaps be injured and needs medical attention, but to maintain his machismo, suffers silently instead of obtaining the services of a physician?

The U.S. does not enjoy popularity in many countries and, I must admit, we stick our noses into places they do not belong. Perhaps, for reasons beyond the Western World's comprehension, Burma does not wish to be "eternally grateful" to the superpowers that be.

Yes, I agree with you, and clips are being shown on BBC news of the efforts of the leadership, but they are woefully inadequate, as we already know.

An old religious law states the greatest gift one can give to those in need is when neither the giver or receiver know one another, and the gift, funds, etc... are given in complete anonymity.
