  2. A book "Black like me" told of a white man that darkend his skin to pass a Black.

He took large amounts Oxsoralen (see below)and subjected himself to long hours under ultraviolet lights. Even with this he had to dye some of his skin.

  3. Ahhhh, beliefs!

Are any of them ever right?

    Who can say.

  4. Vitamin D is fat soluble: that means that an excessive amount will cause problems with endocrine glands and possibly organ malfunction. If white people as a population were given enough vitamin D and light skin was significantly selected against (skin cancer for example) then white people would evolve into darker people.

But since there is plenty of vitamin D and sunscreen, it seems that no skin color carries an adequate fitness advantage to cause an evolutionary shift.

  5. no, only sunlight or UV rays will darken the skin. the skin turns the sunlight into vitamin D

  6. i wouldn't think so

  7. No.  White individuals have the genetic potential to produce only so much melanin and no more.  However, giving anyone too much vitamin D will make them sick.

  9. No indeed! I used to drink a gallon of milk per day....I would think that qualifies as a supplement. My origin is Scandinavian...my fair skin stayed fair. Everything to do with genes.

  10. I doubt it.
