  1. Adapataion would help us cope with the environmental stresses and pressures. The human as a race has survived worst condition to remain the leading member of the race. Global warming would not annihilate the mankind. Rest assured.

  2. check this out http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/ar...

  3. Not for about 1,000,000,000 years.

  4. nope

  5. No. We are like roaches. Some of us always get by.

  6. Haha I'm a bloody Brit and sip on tea all day like a bloody limey!

  7. No, of course not.  It isn't even a remote possibility.

  8. According to Ted Turner we'll eat each other until only one is left.

  9. My jars are ALWAYS over-flowing with bacterium!  I simply keep things in nets now.

In real life, population growth of ALL living things slows as it approaches, then exceeds its environment's resources.  There's a short, unpleasant period of negative population growth until a balance is found.  And it will happen this way with man as well.  No amount of planning will change the fact man is at his core a part of the animal kingdom, and as such, is subject to the same needs that drive every other species to survive, procreate and expand.

What this has to do with Iraq or global warming only you can tell.

  10. Historically warming climate has been VERY beneficial to mankind.  Just think where we'd be if there were still glaciers covering most of the Northern Hemisphere..

  11. No, some will survive and my guess is that it will be politicians as they are very good at looking after themselves. On the climate, nothing will happen until America accepts to cut emmisions, because India and China will say if they don't why should we. Iraq, we desperatly need more troops there, but Britain can't supply them as this Government was so very quick to cut the armed forces to save money. Which means they are overstretched to meet the commitments they are given. As to what is going on, Islamic fundamentalism is going on, but you can't say boo to them or you are called a racist, but it seems it's ok for them to kill who they like. Well thats my view of things.

  12. world pop. woudl indeed have been exponential over the last few decades if it hadnt been for;

feminism and the continued rise of female emancipation

    china's one child policy

crop failure, aids, malaria etc. in africa

economic crash in russia at end of communism

and a few other localised limits on growth.

intelligent bacteria? i am afraid they get swamped by the masses of stupid ones.

climate change? yes that should do the trick, get us back down to 2 or 3 billion, as in the 50's - 60's.

iraq? such a waste of money, that could be spent on climate change mitigation and adaptation, or help towards leveling out the obscene gap between rich and poor, maybe by canceling 3rd world debt for a start. it will destabilise the whole area for decades.

my main worry now is a nuclear accident in iran, as they are at the mercy of the rather carp russian engineers and denied western help due to the u.s.'s right wing anti moslem policies.

  13. yep, we r all connected to this planet
