  1. Having bigger biceps will have nothing to do with giving a stronger punch. Like the person above me said, your punching power all comes from your legs and hips. For example, if you throw a straight right, you want to remember to lift your right heel up and turn your hips while you throw your punch. Your punching power also has to do with your shoulders as well. Having strong and lean shoulders will help you with punches too because a punch also comes from your shoulders. Biceps help you out if you were going to headlock someone or lift something up but thats about it. But having big biceps makes your body look good wen you are training without a shirt on.

  2. Yes and No.

Yes because as your arm get bigger, you naturally are throwing more of your body weight so that in essence would mean a "harder" punch.

No because i have seen guys who bulk up and for some reason dont throw/punch as hard as before, i've heard that it might be because of the added weight and it slowing the speed down of your punch.

Throwing a hard punch has alot to with speed than bigger biceps, take Kelly Pavlick for example, he looks skrawny compared to most of the other fighters in his weight class, but he is considered one of the pure hardest hitters in boxing today. most people almost always think that bigger is better when it comes to boxing when in reality it's not, thats why people fall in love with a fighter just because of his physic. I once heard Larry Merchant call it the "Adonis look" because everyone loves the look of a chizzled fighter. Take my word for it, dont worry about building your arm's, if you want power for a harder punch work on your core/mid-section (stomach area) and i guarantee you will a harder punch.

  3. Having bigger biceps might actually hinder your punching power.  Power is generated from the legs and hips and the snap of the wrist.  I knew a guy who was a bodybuilder and he would brag how much he could lift and was always showing his arms off.  I told him that he would be my favorite guy to box because his arms were so musclebound, he had no snap to his punches.  And don't forget, muscles require more oxygen.  So if you will see guys with overly big muscles tiring out because they can't get enough oxygen in.

  4. don't listen to g.o.a.t. he is drifting off in to lala land.to answer your question NO!!!in boxing power comes from your legs and hips.it is important to keep your body in great shape, but you don't want to be real big.your punching starts in your legs and moves from your shoulders to your fist and bam lights out.you want to do it in one fast fluent motion.

remember if power came from speed then then sugar ray leonard and floyd mayweather were to of the hardest hitters out there.....(that was a joke by the way).power comes from your legs look at foreman, tyson, frazier, and rocky marciano.they all had big legs they all generated there power from there legs.

sorry if the spelling sucks i'm not an english teacher.
