Would heavy things like a desk, television stand, etc. ruin the laminate wood flooring? (scratching, scraping)

How can I prevent it if it ever occurs? I want to keep it as clean and neat as possible.

You could put felt pads  or plastic floor glides on the legs or bottoms of these items.  They shouldn't scratch unless they are sharp or damaged themselves. Or someone moves them

carelessly.

You can buy special rudder pads that they sit on and not mark the floor, Or dont move them, Just being cheeky on the last one
