Would i be able to Hear a difference if i upgraded wire?

I have a pretty big amp the last amp i had was a cheap sony one.

I want to know if i will hear a differnce in bass from my sub if i upgraded my power wire the amp is 787 watts rms at 4ohms i have only 5ga wire on it from scosche some websites say i need at least 2ga on that amp or 0ga i have a 12" kicker L7 its already really loud but dont know if it would get louder from upgrading wire

  1. You may be able to marginally hear some difference in the performance of the sub. Using technical equipment you could measure the difference but it will be difficult to truly hear it.

    The larger power wire will ensure more power can get to the amp and sub. A better wire will ensure better connectivity and less loss of power. That is about all it can do

    You still would need to upgrade your signal wire (RCAs) if you really want to hear a difference and again it would be minimal.


  2. YES, you will hear a noticeable difference

    and the quality of the RCA cables in correlation to sound quality or volume is negotiable (not worth the money for high quality RCAs, it only makes a major difference in home theater setups, not car audio- especially for subs)
