Question:

Would i be able to make in big in cycling?

i just turned 16 and i always do 10 miles a day at the gym on bike and i also mountain bike on weekends with friends and i am getting a road bike soon. If I could do 15 miles a day 30 on weekends would i be able to make it big if i continued this for few years?

  1. It's never too late brothah.  Lance raced into his 30's.  You have tons of prime left, but yeah if you have a passion for it, get on it!

    The club will help you get going and teach you a good training regimen.  If you want to get started early - hop on down to the library and get some books (written by pro-cyclists) on performance cycling.

    We gotta get you up to 20mph average without a second thought - and work you up to 30 mph in a group ride on level terrain... then you'll be ready... (Gong Sound).


  2. You can start in your 20's and get good enough. You're still in the early stages. I believe that Lance was around 14-15 when he first started racing and I know the Greg Lemond was 14 when he started. Since you're still growning, you're not exactly behind riders your age who have been doing it for a couple of years. You'll catch on within a race or two and within one season, you'll be as good as the others- if you aren't already.

  3. If you continue to do that, and stay healthy, than yes. If your racing you must have a lot of motivation to win.
