Would i be able to teach English in Colombia without a degree?

I am 18 and am currently doing my Alevel exams, i am taking a gap year and am going to Colombia as i have family there. I speack Spanish fluently and have a Spanish Alevel where i got an A. I was wondering whether it would be possible to teach English, the Alevels i have taken are: English language,Film Studies, Spanish and French.

  1. Sorry but there are only two ways a person can teach English at any U.S. university, you have to have a degree OR be a well known published author/poet.

  3. There aren't that many EFL jobs in South America (compared to Asia and Europe anyway) and it's rare to see a job advertised in Colombia. You could ask around the language schools and you might get lucky but most language schools would want a CELTA certificate at least and a lot of places in South America would want a degree as well. It's worth asking though. With your family links and knowledge of Spanish, it's possible you could get a job.
