  1. I am not totally positive about the marines... My husband is in the army and he has 10 tattoos and two of which are on his hands the ones on his hands are very small by his thumbs but he got into the army with them so i know they can allow them with waivers. But like another one said of good taste nothing nude or gang related my husband covered anything he thought they would disapprove of with better tats.

  2. yep, alot of people have or get tatoos while they are in the military

  3. Yes you would be allowed..

Tattoos are only a issue if they cover an entire body part or are in bad taste.

  4. This would not be an issue.  Department of the Navy (Marines fall under DON regulations) newest tattoo policy states that as long as the tattoo is not gang-related, offensive in nature, or above the shoulders then you are good to go.  Little bit more too it but not worth mentioning since what you descibe is clearly within regulations.

  5. Yes.  You are only disqualified if the tattoo is on the hands or face.  It must be covered while the servicemember is in the class A uniform.

  6. Don't join the marines. there's about to be a holy war.

  7. Ya, you could join with more than that. My recruiter had a fatty tat on his arm. Probably got that after he was in though.

  8. Yes. For most people that have only minor issues, the military service is allowed to grant waivers for such things.

  9. It shouldnt be a problem as long as the tattoo is not gang related or a prison tattoo.  The Marines allow tattoos as long as it does not show when the service member is wearing his/her delta's which consists of blue trousers and a short sleeve shirt.  Even if you do have a tattoo below the elbow, I believe a recruiter can give you a waiver for exactly that reason.  Some of my fellow Marines had tattoos and they said it was ok since it was prior to them enlisting.

  10. You are OK as long as you disclose it to your recruiter-Thanks for  considering to serve your country!!!   GO ARMY!!! (Army Mom)

  11. The location of it makes it a non-issue.  For it to cause problems it would have to be someplace that could be seen while in uniform..neck, face, forearms..or have racist or unallowed content.
