  1. As long as you have an antenna built-in, stay within the signal range of the station and out of mines, tunnels and certain big or stone buildings, it should retain essentially the same signal as you move about.

I would think in the UK that if one station started to fade, you could, in many cases, switch to the same program on a different frequency.

I'm a yank, so i could be wrong, I welcome any correction to this post.

  2. I used to listen to DAB radio whilst cycling into work (approx 8 miles).  Close to home, I could get my usual radio station on DAB, but the closer I got into the centre of London, the signal disappeared and I had to change to FM. Wet and windy days also tended to alter how the reception was and how built up the area was. I was using a small radio.  Have recently bought a Pure Move, but so far, have only moved it around my house (with no problems at all).  Don't know if the larger size would give a better reception when moving around.  I guess if your area has a good signal, then it might be ok.  If you are trying to decide whether to get a Personal DAB radio, then I would say go for it - but would recommend one with FM too so that you have something to listen to if the digital reception disappears for a while.  Check your postcode with the link.  If it shows loads of radio stations, then there is a good chance you will get a good reception.
