  1. If you are worried your 'friends' will do something illegal, I recommend new friends.  That said, generally you are not responsible for actions you do not participate in.  Depending on WHAT they do, it may be difficult to prove you did not participate.

  2. Guilty by association...

Is simply a parental tool of control.

No, you won't as long as you can prove you didn't take part in what they did.

  3. You really aren’t telling us anything  will you get in trouble if she gets caught speeding NO will you get in trouble  if she  robs a liquor store YES  there is a wide spectrum of possibilities  in between

  4. For speeding or other moving violations, they don't blame anyone except the driver. It is in no way the passenger's fault. Trust me, I have been in the car while pulled over for speeding.

Now, if your friend is stupid and starts s*** with the cops, they might start searching the car and everyone in the car for anything they can use against you guys. So if you think your friend is likely to be caught speeding, don't have anything illegal in your possession.

  5. If it's something like driving in a car and they're speeding, then you won't get in trouble. But say you're friend stole something from a store and you were with them, then you would get accused to. Or if your friend was drinking under the age limit. You would get in trouble. It all depends on the situation. But most of the time you'll be proven guilty by assocition.

  6. that all depends on the situation. if you've got stolen goods near you, you bet you could be accused. I knew a woman who spent time in prison because her boyfriend was storing drugs at her house without her knowledge. again, it all depends on the law enforcement's take on the situation. I arrested three kids one time for destroying public property. Two of them swore that the third was the one who did it all. The judge threw the book at all of 'em. Not fair? probably. But we are known by the friends we keep kiddo.

  7. If you are in the car with anyone that has any illegal substances or narcotics in the vehicle when an officer discovers it, you'd be arrested on transportation charges. Another way is if there is proof that you are possibly assisting your friend to commit a misdemeanor or felony, then you'd be charged with Criminal Liability for the Conduct of Another. The only other way to get arrested in that case is if you have an Electric Bench Warrant for you.
