Alright theres a friend of mine that is very ripped, even in 7th grade, he was definitely the strongest kid in our grade, just ripped as h**l. I asked him his workout and he said all he did was 200 push ups a day. I never got into lifting after that, im now a sophomore in highschool and ive got a decent body, i have an athletic body, im 5'9, 125 pounds, just really not much muscle. So i decided to start lifting, so i have been lifting with free weights but im sick of it, so i wanna do push ups everyday. So heres me plan. I started 2-3 weeks ago doing push ups everyday, i can do 70 a day (not much i know) but im sure that in about a month or 2 ill be up to 150-200, i know i will ,im very dedicated. So if i keep doing 70-100 pushups a day and eventually getting up to 200 a day will i get really strong and ripped? if not, please give me a really effective workout, thanks!

  1. look push ups work for your friend it might not work for you.push ups yea it could work but why do push ups when you can lift weights come on its common sense.weight lifting will build muscle a lot faster than 200 push ups.also if you think right now 70 is your max after u do those 70 do 70 girls push ups trust me it works great.also if you are thinking of sticking to push ups change it up from time top time do wide arm.regular, diamond and try push ups with dumbbells.it wont take long for u to get ripped muscle will show a lot faster on skinny arms.telling by your weight you must be really skinny.no 5'9 i know weights 125

  2. my brother did weight lifting over the summer and you can totally tell a difference from the beginning of summer to now. And he said that every week they added 50 to his crunches and everything. So i think it will work. good luck!

  3. Push ups are good as are sit ups or crunches--have to do the abs along with the arms!  Get yourself up to as many as you can handle BUT don't workout too much if you don't have too much muscle right now.  You can work out so much of the fat (which you don't seem to have much of) that you will burn off muscle after that.  Also you have to remember that some body shapes don't accept the ripped look really well.  At 5' 9" and 125 you are moderately tall and skinny.  Increase your calories; eat carbs and protein so you work out what you eat and not just what is already in your body.  Do you have a bike?  Riding a bike builds up leg muscles that you wouldn't get with push ups and sit ups.
