  1. you SHOULD NOT add a battery to a stock charging system because it will just put more strain on your alternator-- your sounds are powered from your battery but your battery is constantly charged (while the car is running) by your alternator, so if you just add another alternator you will have the stock alternator trying to charge two batteries when it was designed to keep only one charged-- it will cause problems

with those non CEA-compliant amps you would be lucky to get a third of the advertised RMS wattage and it would more than likely be distorted (distortion is the main cause of speaker damage), plus when you buy stuff that's not CEA-compliant you have no way of knowing the real wattage so its impossible to properly match your subs and amps and that can be a problem because

If you send too much power to your sub, you risk damaging it. The cone of the speaker and the mechanical parts that make it move may break under the stress. Surprisingly, too little power can also damage your subwoofer — in fact, it's actually more common than damage caused by overpowering.

When the volume is turned up and the amp doesn't have enough power, the signal becomes distorted, or "clipped." This distorted signal can cause parts of the speaker to overheat, warp and melt. Not good!

You don't have to match speaker and amp wattages exactly. An amp with a higher output than the speaker's rating won't necessarily damage the speaker — just turn the amp down a bit if you hear distortion from the sub and don't run the speaker at extremely loud volumes for lengthy periods. Likewise, you'll be OK with a lower powered amp if you keep the volume down and don't feed a distorted signal to the sub.

IF you really had that much wattage (trust me with those amps you wont) you would need to upgrade all of the wires in your charging system (big three) with at least 4gauge and get a high output alternator (of second alternator) and then ONLY after that you could add another battery (a deep cell battery or car audio high current power cell)-- dont waste your cash on capacitors either

  2. Yes, you are definitely going to want another battery for this much power. Make sure you get the right size power and ground wire for these amps too, they will each need 4 gauge or bigger.
