  1. humm If you wanna use more than few weeks, you have to register since 1st of January 2008.

You can also use prepaid Turkish SIM.

  2. i was just in istanbul for 2 weeks and took my blackberry there, as long as you have a sim you can take out of your i-phone you can simply replace it with a turkish sim card! i didn't have to register and all this stuff.

But you will face a problem, because USA i-phones are locked, so registered or not, it might not work on another network. My blackberry is the Sprint one and it actually comes unlocked from sprint. I even used it in Egypt with an Egyptian Sim.

  3. In addition to getting the phone unblocked (which is possible in Turkey) in order to replace the SIM card with a Turkish one, you also need to register the actual phone at the airport on arrival, otherwise it will cease to function after a few weeks. This is because phone theft has been so high that all phones are registered to the owner in order to put off potential thieves.

  4. You will have to get it unblocked either in us or istanbul its possible but im not sure how much it will cost you hope that helps
