Would i qualify for a british passport?

My father is a British citizen, he passed away recently, would i qualify for a British passport? Both my grandparents were also British citizens??? and if so how would i go about applying for one???

  1. Most likely you would qualify. If you are legitimate (born in wedlock) you should be able to easily get the passport as long as all the paperwork is in order.

    The rules tend to vary a bit considering where you are born. I'm guessing you're born American but your dad's born British (as well as further back). However, if I'm wrong just post a few notes stating what year you're born and what country you're currently in and I'll adjust my info and links.

    Generally you need to fill out the C1 form (C2 if you're under 16), get your full birth cert, dad's birth cert, dad's proof of citizenship (if he naturalized), parents marriage certificate, fee forms etc...

  3. Check out www.ips.gov.uk for further reliable information. It would seem that you would easily qualify once you can prove all that you have stated.

    Go to the England Embassy and apply. It takes about 3 months to get the passport because of the long approval process.
