Would it be a bad idea to paint the white stipple ceiling a colour?

I'd like to do the bedroom walls in a sandy colour but I'm thinking of using the same colour on the ceiling just to make the room appear warm and cozy. Have you ever seen a coloured stippled ceiling?

It will depend how rough and deep the stipple is, because with colors, particularly dark ones, you will see shadows.It is rather hard to explain what it looks like, but the ceiling will seem different shades of your sandy colour. 8/02
