Would it be a good idea to start a dog related business in Terrace BC?? Or another place in northern BC.?

I want to move up to Northern BC and I train and walk and do daycare for dogs. I'm not sure if it would work out or be a good idea. I would LOVE it if someone who's been there, or better yet lives somewhere up there would let me know if there are a lot of dogs in some cities up there (which ones) and if it would be profitable (people need the service) and how much competition might be there (other dog related businesses). I would appreciate any input from anyone who knows about this area. Thanx!!

It would be a good idea to survey the veterinarians in the areas you are interested in.  They will be the first ones to get a call for a referral when such a service is needed, and could tell you if there is a boon or dearth of competition.

I get up into northern BC on a pretty regular basis and can assure you that there is no shortage of dogs, or dog owners, in the area. But since my business doesn't involve dealing with animals I am not the one to be dispensing advice here. Ergo, methinks you should give these following people a call and pick their brains. As you won't be a direct competitor, per se, they should be more than willing to give you the straight scoop.
