  1. Any PC (and more so for laptops) you buy today WILL be outdated in a few years. h**l it might even be outdated in a few months.

Think about this...if you buy the best laptop you can afford, in a few months or years all you'll be able to do is basic stuff!

  2. No it wouldnt be a waste at all.  Put your $$ into the best processor you can afford at the time and you can always add more Ram or a larger hard drive later. Here's a little bit more about Dual-Core processing:

  3. Three words: GET A MACBOOK! Those laptops last for ever!

  4. Well if its just web surfing and email go for it, not futcher proof like a more powerful machine ( IE. macbook or a dell XPS notebook) But for email and web browsing and 3 Gigs of ram it should be quite speedy. I hope this answers your question and see you later.

  5. If you're going to need your computer only for the basics.  Then no..  It wouldn't be a waste.   In fact that's what my laptop is.  a 1.7 dual core.

  6. If it is for basic stuff than yes getting a new notebook or laptop will be a waste of money.

  7. For basic stuff you don't need a very expensive one if you are going to play games on it than go for it

  8. Heck no! Dual core processors are very efficient and fast. There are some laptops with quad cores - expensive, run hot - they are a waste of money at the present time.

  9. I don't see any reason why that would be a waste most computers come with dual core processor and have for some time so i don't think it will be outdate same with 3GB although that is more so it won't be outdated anytime soon.

  10. No. A pentium dual core is near core 2 duo.

  11. No, haven't you ever seen the Fujitsu Lifebook?  That thing has one!
