Question:

Would it be alright for me to sleep with my contact lenses in?

I'm not sure if they're breathable or not, but I forgot to bring my solution and case to a friends house...and it's far too late for me to call my parents and have them bring them over.

Would it be alright for me to spend one night with them in? Or are there any other options?

  1. its probably OK to sleep with them in just this once but don't do it again and be careful you don't get an eyelash or a piece of fur in it that hurts like heel.

  2. i depends...they have these new contacts where you can keep them on for one month straight...those are awesome.

  3. i used to do it all the time. they get supppper dry and you will be able to tell when you wake up...

put them in a glass of water. it works too

  4. I would much rather any of my patients sleep in their lenses in a case like yours instead of putting them in water.

DO NOT put them in water  - if you sleep in them, take them out and put them in solution to give your eyes some rest as soon as you get a chance.

  5. DO NOT USE WATER! there can be bugs in the water that will really jack up your eyes. If they are disposible lenses, i would just toss them and put in a new pair the next day. sleeping in them is a bad habit to get into

  6. No, not at all.

  7. it's ok but after you wake up it feels really weird and your contacts feel really dry

  8. You wouldn't get sick or die but your eyes will probably be glued shut in the morning and you'll have to put water in them.  Your eyes will probably hurt quite a lot afterwards so even if you take them out in water it would be better than going through the pain and trouble.

  9. i guess if it's just one night but it's really uncomfortable and can cause irritation and germs if you have solution with you... maybe you should take them out put them in a plastic bag with solution.

  10. DO NOT PUT THEM IN WATER.

it is not their natural solute and it will be extremely uncomfortable to wear them afterwards.

it will be fine to sleep in them for one night, but make sure that you put some kind of eye drops in your eyes in the morning.

they will feel dry and itchy.

if they are extremely uncomfortable, look in a mirror and if there is a red circle around the outer edge of the lense, you have an eye infection and need to take them out immediately.

make sure you take them out once you get back to your house tomorrow.

but i think you will be fine. i sleep in mine every now and then too.
