we are planning a trip to chicago and we are all under twenty one. We'd like to visit the Signature lounge but we don't know whether or not we'd be allowed (provided we don't order drinks). Thanks

  1. Absolutely! As long as you dress appropriately & have money to spend...do it up! Just don't act like a bunch of crazy kids & you'll be fine. They are very accommodating to all customers.  It's a little expensive so be prepared but the view is spectacular!

  2. Hey do one better.  As long as you are going in the afternoon, go to lunch there.  THey have a little know buffet lunch for under $20 a person.  A little expensive, but WORTH it for hte food/view.  You do not have to dress up, but look presentable and LEAVE A TIP.  I think the buffet is something like $17.  It is between 11-2 on the weekday.  May include Sat.  Enjoy!!!!

  3. Anytime is good for a teeny to lounge in the lounge.

Just make sure they wear their cocktail jackets..

  4. I'd recommend just going to the observation deck and skipping the expensive lounge.  But there's a charge for getting to the deck, so it might be a wash.  Here's more info for you to review and make your decision.

    Here's the lunch menu:  ($12 for a burger, e.g.)

Admission to the observation deck is Adult $12.00 Child $8.00 Senior $10.00.  So if you can get to the 95th for free, it might be worth it.

The deck is on the 94th, the Signature Room is on the 95th, and the Signature Lounge is on the 96th.

In the deck, you can walk around all four sides, and spend as much time as you like pressed up against the windows.  From the restaurant or lounge, you'll have to settle for whatever seat you get, and it might not give you the view as good as from the deck.

I think the view is best at sunset or at night.  Hancock's view beats the Sear's Tower hands down, IMHO, since you get views of the lakefront.  From Sear's you can't see the lake at all, at least not the lakefront.  From Hancock, you can look down on Oak Street Beach and Lake Shore Drive to the north, and Grant Park, Navy Pier, and the Museum Campus to the south.  You get none of that at the Sear's Tower, just buildings/city views.
