Would it be appropriate to take my 7 year old daughter to a Roller Derby bout?

I've never been myself but thought it would be fun if we went together. If all went well I thought of bringing her Brownie troop. Is it too violent? I imagine it being no more than football.

  1. You will have to ask the parents of the other children.  Some may not want their daughters going to such an event.  As for YOUR daughter...you should know her better than strangers on a message board would it be appropriate to take your daughter to this even?

  2. I'm not judging, but if I were you, I would not expose my daughter to that.  The language, the outfits, the violence...  It's entertaining on an adult level, but I personally would not bring my daughter to a roller derby, just as I would not bring her to a rated R movie.

  3. i went when i was 10 or 11. my moms frends sis is a derby doll. its not as violent as you think but get there early or youll have to sit way back. and dont sit in the first few lines beacuse those are the "scuicidal zones" were the girls fall. the outfits can be S****y too so tell them thats not tolorated.

  4. Not at all my daughters best friends mother does roller derby and has for years. The girls love it, I'm a firm believer in exposing my daughter to as many different lifestyles as suitable. By the way our daughters are 7 also.

  5. To people like u or I that does sound fun to do...but to add in the...ummm...lets say more conserative or s****. parents from the brownie troop and you may have some disagreements. My advice have a mom and daughter day and go, check it out and if it isnt that bad start suggesting it to parents and gage their reactions. Have fun

  6. any place with drinking and pissed off girls is never a good place for young children thats why most of those places you need to be 21 or older to get into.
