I am looking at buying a paintball marker very soon. A lot of people say that they like the A5, but the alpha black looks alright to.I just want to know how they compare. I also saw the Rap4 T68, which looked accurate and pretty good.

Help!

  1. Definitely go with the A5 its a great gun especially if you are just beginning. i used to always use tippmanns and have never had any problems. PLus the A5 is upgradeable so if you get good and want to improve the marker you wont have to drop serious cash on a new marker.

  2. I just bought Alpha Black about 2 weeks ago, its a pretty good gun but its not the most  accurate gun ive seen.  Its good for woods ball and scenario and i havnt had any problems with it either. I bought the gun and the $50 upgrade (stock, front sight, and a slig) that makes the gun kinda heavy.

My friend has the A5 and he really like it, he said it pretty accurate but he had a  velocity problem with it whan he first got it.  He was fixed it himself and hasnt had any other problem since.

  3. The A5 is a next step up from the Tippmann 98C.

The ABT is just a Tippmann 98C with a different body for looks.

The RAP4 Gen4 is a Nice Magazine Fed Paintball Gun but has a couple bugs.

Look here for information on the Gen4:

I have the Gen4 and am a Moderator on that forum "Orpackrat".

Accuracy comes from a good paintball and a good paintball to barrel match.  That being said, the Gen4 is accurate with Nelsplat Paintballs since they fit the barrel.

"Justin C"  The flatline barrel is not the best option since its hard and picky on paintballs.  It needs to be tuned.  A better barrel would be a Palmers Brass Barrel (not longer than 16", Porting not needed on a Tippmann, .690 bore):

    Apex Barrel Adaptor:

And an Apex Tip (Apex Barrel has a large bore so it does not shoot accuratly).

  4. im guessing your looking at getting into woodsball just from the markers your talking about.

I suggest the A5 for the reason its very reliable fully upgradeable one of the best woodsball guns.  your going to want to add a "flatline barrel" give you more distance and accuracy then any other barrel in paintball.  from there its up to you if you want to have the real gun look.

  5. Tell me if im wrong but tippmann makes the alpha blacks. but yea the a5 is a good gun.

    a5 is a tippmann 98 with a cyclone feed

    x7 is a a5 with tux

  6. I'd stick with a Tippmann.  They are reliable, easy to maintain, and are great starter guns.  The best thing about them is that they last FOREVER so you can always keep them as a back-up  for when your higher-end marker won't work.
