  1. I don't find that it generally makes any difference at all, but I understand that if you go to the British post office, you can exchange money without an exchange fee.  If the rate is good, I would do it that way, and carry an ATM card, (not a credit card, they charge more fees) to get more if you need it.  Use your credit card for anything BUT ATMS.

  2. It is usually better and cheaper to buy foreign currency in your country of origin not the country of destination. By so doing you help to conserve the balance of payments of your own country, and you are more likely to get the correct international rate of exchange.

  3. i have just come back from salou in costa dorada and there you get 1.22 for 1 pound

  4. As the exchange rate is terrible at the moment it won´t make much difference where you change it, as I guess you will not be exchanging a vast amount so the difference you save will be very minimal.

  5. The best place to get Euros is in a UK Post Office, you will have to order them in some branches, they are also the easiest place to change them back when you come home, but they only take notes.

If when you come home, you have a lot of coins, it's best either to get them changed into notes or spend them while you're in Spain, or alternatively change them at the airport in Spain, or keep them in a jar for when you go next time!
