  1. I took macro first, and micro was a breeze afterwards.  i thought of it this way.  macro is big, micro is little.  i probably want to learn the big major concepts of the economy before i start learning about economics on a smaller basis.  i would do macro first, but they both overlap a lot so either way you will not be lost.

  2. Learning macro or micro first doesn't really follow a prevalent order.  People learn better in different ways.  However, what you really need to check is your school's economics curriculum.  If your school requires that you take micro before macro (which is what I expect), then I would follow that.

I lean toward taking micro before macro because of two reasons: that's what I did, and I believe concepts in macro are irrelevant to micro while concepts in micro lay the foundations for macro.  Ultimately, though, I think you should ask your adviser and check your curriculum.

  3. While they are both economics courses they are very different, but still have somethings in common. It doesn't matter which you take first, because you don't need to know one subject for the other.

  4. I did macro then micro. Just seemed to make sense to me. I think it works out better that way. It doesn't really matter though.
