Would it be cheaper to travel by train or plane?

I am moving to Falmouth, Cornwall, in just over a year for the Marine University. Would it be cheaper to travel by train or plane?

If it's within the British isles, I would say train. Planes are very expensive, especially with fuel surcharges and landing fees.

Bit more info required Superman - ie, where are you coming from? Nearest airports to Falmouth are Newquay and Plymouth so air travel could be limited depending on where you are flying from.

There are 2 rail stations in Falmouth, town and docks which are on a branch line, the nearest main station is Truro.

If you have time to book in advance, could get a good deal on train tickets.
