Question:

Would it be cruel to have my boyfriend's cat and 3-week kittens at mine while hes away?

He's going for a week and isn't that keen on leaving them with his Mum because she's not keen on pets and he thinks his sister will leave the door open (they have a dog and another cat).

He suggested that I had them for a week, but we both think it may be too stressful for the kittens and mother to be in an unfamiliar place/

Also it is a 45-50 minute drive from his to mine.

Do you think this would be too unsettling?

Thank!

  1. They would adapt just fine.

  2. I think as long as all are together and you talk and are good to them it will be fine!

It MIGHT be unsettling for a little while but as long as your place is peaceful it is better than being at his "mum's" with all the other animals.

    good luck

  3. Why not stay at his place for that week?

  4. Give her a good closet or place to hid with her babies if need be. I would strongly reccomend bringing them to your house since they have a dog.

  5. This is a crucial time in the kitten's lives to be socialized to humans. 3-4 weeks old is when you want to start petting and touching them frequently. I would stay at his place for the week. If nothing else, bring them home with you. Bring the bedding they're sleeping on for some familiarity.

  6. I have transported more moms and kittens than I care to remember at times for the rescue.  It is an hour drive for me and they all do just fine, her safety is much more important than the drive, she will adapt just fine.
