Yes, you'll find them (and obviously they will be happy to sell) in any store selling electric materials.

Believe me you can find just about everything in Italy as you do in the USA but slightly more expensive.

They are pretty easy to find, any electronics shop, even at some of the bigger grocery stores like Esselunga, GS etc.  I think they are roughly 9 euro and include anywhere from 2-4 batteries.  Have a good trip!

if you are traveling to italy from the usa, or wherever, and are looking to have a charger, just get one from a store where you live.  we brought one with us to charge the camera batteries.  all we needed was the plug adaptor and it was easy!  our batteries were charged and we could still use the charger back home.
