If this fight were to happen and pacquiao manages to win (I have doubts for the fight)

Oscar DeLaHoya stopped being a fighter during and after his losses to Mosley. From then It was a money game, grab a big fight here and there for a big pay day

Plus DeLaHoya is a cash cow, and whoever he fights makes millions and millions of dollars and world recognition. Usually in exchange for the chance to fight Oscar you would have to sign a contract stating that you would let Golden Boy Promotions promote or get at least a peaice of your next few fights or you have to sign with Golden Boy completely.

It happened with Shane Mosley, Bernard Hopkins (who he made a small partner) and he was going to get some action from Floyd Mayweather's next few fights. But Mayweather retired which totally ****** DeLaHoya who probably planned on beating him in the rematch. Instead Floyd took his money, told Oscar to go **** himself and retired rather then letting Oscar dip into his pockets.

This is speculation on my part, but If you have been following the sport for the last decade and been following whats going on with boxing outside the ring you could see it pretty easily.

And if you could not see that DeLaHoya held back against Mayweather then It must have been the first time you have seen Oscar fight. DeLaHoya kept it close, between rounds i remember him asking his corner what the score was at least once possibly more.

Now as for the Pacquiao Vs DeLaHoya fight. Manny is the big cash cow and Oscar has been fighting with Arum over the right for Manny's career. Now it appears as though Oscar and Arum have patched things up and are now working on a deal that will allow Oscar to get a taste of the Pacquiao cash crop to follow if he does fight Oscar and win.

That being said, there is more money in it for Oscar to lose, making Manny an international star and will set up Huge Mega fights that Oscar will somehow get a peaice of.

So If they do fight, look for Oscar to hold back and let Manny flurry out a close decision victory. Oscar makes a mint and secures big paydays every time Manny fights. Of course after he fights Oscar Manny will probably be fed give me opponents for a few fights so that there cash cow don't get slaughtered before they can milk him.

So basically the whole thing would be a farce. They will make millions of running a few 24/7's, add a little fire at the press conference (with Oscar doing some horrible acting) and Manny don't seem like much of an actor himself. At least Floyd made it believable. But I mean come on? How much could you hate a guy that is going to make you 20 million dollars?? But thats the politics of boxing.

But I will still fork over my money to watch the DeLaHoya-Pacquiao debacle.

Prediction: Pacquiao Split Decision 12.

for those guys that think the fight will not happen.. sorry to disappoint you but pacquiao just flew to the US to see oscar to give the final touches on their match. It will be this december and the only thing that might not work is if Delahoya will not agree on the terms. pacquiao is willing and will fight at 147, for a 20million dollars pay and delahoya must exactly be on 147 weight or there would be a fine of 750,000 per pound that Delahoya will overweigh. if delahoya will agree on those terms is a done deal.. Pacman still has a shot but it will be a very slim one, coz eventually at that weight he will become slower and his punches will not be as powerful as hitting a smaller guy. But for somereason he got lucky and did land a clean one on delahoya, pacman has the power to make it happen. and that would be a surprise to most of us..

I also dont think this fight will ever happen but if it did I dont think its crazy to think Manny would have busier hands and more effective punches than DLH.

this could be a great fight but lets not fool ourselves sure manny has excelled in his division which he dominates but common now its the featherweight division dat wud be like de la hoya goin up in weight say 20 or 30 lbs and challenging lennox lewis back in his prime we all kno dlh wud get murderd ......sure manny is a heck of a fighter wid a lot of heart but do u really thng he can hang wit the big boys

it wouldn't be funny it would be fixed and i think if manny ever do get to fight de la hoya it would be fixed and manny would win because he is the next big thing in boxing people come and want to see manny fight so if he loses the boxing promoters meal ticket would end

I really don't think this fight will happen, but Pacuiao could win.

first i don't think the fight is going to happen.  manny would be crazy to jump up 12lbs to fight oscar.  oscar wants to look like he's in his prime for his last fight.  manny would be way too fast for oscar but he could knock manny out.  that being said, it won't be pretty for oscar.  my prediction is he'll fight his last fight against sergio mora.  he'll school him and he'll retire a champion since mora has a belt.
