If I use a glossy floor paint will it be easy to clean, or will it always show dirt?. Also I have 4 kids, and 3 dogs. Am I being silly for wanting white painted floors?.

  1. it is easy to clean and it will show alot. we have painted floors but not white. they clean almost like wood floors SUPER easy. however with white you might be being a bit silly.  if you can wash the floor every or almost everyday then go for it. you will constantly be cleaning it.

  2. I wouldn't go with it!  It will show every mark like a screaming neon sign.  I did bad enough when I picked out a linoleum tile with a white background and lots of colored flecks.....  I can mop that floor every day and it never stays clean longer than about 10 min.  And I only have 1 son, 2 dogs and 4 cats.  Throw in my husband and mother for good measure!

  3. You would really be sorry if you painted the floor white!

  4. Unless you want uber shabby chic - don't do it. White ceramic or even good quality vinyl would be OK but given the traffic you have it is verging on the masochistic.

  5. Uhm, I'd go with maybe a tile or something. White paint will hold the stains or what not. 7 silly things on the floor, the nails scratching the paint and all. I suggest the peel and stick tiles, should work easily since if a peice gets messed up just replace it!

  6. I think you would regret painting your floors white.  I have a small area connecting my kitchen to a room addition that I painted white and it looks dirty all the time.

If you have your heart set on painting the floor you might try painting wide stripes with your favorite colors.

    Good luck!

  7. You may not be silly for wanting them. . . but you'd be certifiably crazy to do it!  lol
