Would it be interesting if the Olympics had an auto racing event?

I mean something similar to IROC but a world wide event like the first person said with like formula 1 and then maybe one day have all of them participate in open wheel cars, stock cars, and then the trucks, or bikes. Monster Trucks perhaps, a little far fetched but would be interseting.

yea they only have 2 months of free time and thats really spent testing, i really dont see it happening because while the olympics was going on we were racing so no....would it be interesting yes of course but then you have to ask what type of car would they race, le mans, formula, off road, stock, touring, there are so many different associations that race and then there wouldnt be as many countries maybe participating, afterall it was held in china and china is big on drifft racing

If they have freakin' Ping-Pong in the Olympics why not!

edit: No problem. I about fell on the floor when I turned the TV on and saw them playing. So if they have that why not have racing or a demolition derby or something. lol

no. even though it does take skill to be an auto racer i dont think enough countries could participate

It would have to be something similar to IROC in order to have representatives from around the world...all in equal cars.  That would be awesome!

might be interesting but wont happen as Nascar style racing is looked down upon in the other countries since they feel f1 lemans and gran prix are so good

It would be cool but I doubt it's ever going to happen, but I like the idea!

i think it would be nice to have it but it would be complex.  I think the Americans would be the only ones who knew what they were doing in stock car racing and the other nations would have a real problem preparing for it. the Chinese would turn it into drifting probably.

i dont think other nations could understand pit stops either.  

i have actually spent some time thinking about this and if it were in the Olympics what events there should be.

dont let any one catch you calling it ping pong.  i made that mistake to someone who was really obsessed with the sport and they said it is refereed to as table tennis..i said well thats ping pong.
