Would it be odd for me to go to a bar and sit at a table by myself and drink?

I actually find it very relaxing to just get away and hang out by myself. Yeah guys are going to hit on you but be polite and say no.

Seriously though I have had some great conversations (with no intent) with just people who know nothing about me and they're doing the same..

No, but you'll get noticed if your sitting alone....but it's OK, try a neighborhood bar...friendlier

I don't think it would be odd at all. I work at a restaurant and there r ppl who come in by themselves and eat by themselves. If u wanna go in by yourself then go ahead and try it. If not, then maybe u should sit at the bar and maybe talk to the bartender.

It could be that person is depressed or just likes the atmosphere or attention. Maybe.

I've done that before.

Maybe the person has poor social skills and is worried about their image or they don't really belong there.

I do it all of the time but I prefer to sit at the bar. I have one particular bar I go to when I want to be alone.

no, i used to do it all the time cuz i had to travel for work.   it's ok - just know that guys will try to hit on you - just be polite but not too friendly.
