  1. Yes, and it might rehydrate you a little bit faster.

You are still drinking water, which you need to prevent dehydration. Gatorade just adds sugars and salts. The electrolytes can be beneficial, but water all by itself is the preferred drink.

You do not want to be asking for a pee break in the middle of a match, and the sugars will be making that happen. Diarrhea can also result from drinking too much sugar.

Water is best, and if you need food, then eat some (i.e. a banana for carbohyrates).

  2. Sure, it's okay. There's not much evidence that sports drinks help more than water  unless you're exercising hard for an extended period of time (more than 60 minutes) in which case they can add quick sugars  to help replenish what you've lost. The main benefit of sports drinks is just that their sweet/tart taste doesn't quench your thirst immediately, so you drink more of them, which helps you hydrate better.  It's only because you're drinking more fluids, not because the fluid is better. Yes, sports drinks have electrolytes, but the amounts are so small, you would never use up your body's supply in a typical sports event, unless you were maybe running a triathlon or marathon.

  3. Boxers do not drink between rounds.

They spit out most of the water.

If you drink between rounds you may have stomach distress, especially if you are hit in the stomach.

  4. It is against the rules for a fighter to drink anything but water between rounds

  5. It could rehydrate a boxer but it could also cause a stomach cramp its why most boxers have opt out of doing it but i do belive winky wright whated to drink for his hopkins fight but hopkins wouldnt allow but only because he didnt want to give him a mental edge.

In general though after a workout or physical activity the best option is Choclate milk to rehydrate. It has more  electrolytes and less calories. Choclate milk is basically the samething as muscle milk
