i think you have to have them peirce than stetched to the guage. hmm not sure though.

well if theyre already pierced and you stretch it upward then thats okay. but if you mean to just go into the piercing parlor and expect them to shove an 8G in your ear... than no! thats bad. ask them to do like a 14G or 12G but no bigger. youll have to do the rest of the stretching yourself. and 8G is not that big but for a new ear i dont think its safe. good luckk! :D

get them pierced, unless they already are, then buy gages for them.

you could probably jump from an 18 or whatever a normal piercing is to a 12,

THEN go to an 8.

well if your meaning getting them peirced with a 8 gauge then no that would seriously hurt. But you can use a 20. Then work your way down.

I've seen this dude with a gauge at 0 omg thatt  would seriouslly hurt
