He's been having solids since he was 4 months and he's doing great but now that he's sick with his first cold I can hardly get him to nurse and he only seems interested in solid foods when I'm eating.

  1. I wouldn't give it to him just yet. Canned soup is often full of sodium which isn't good for young babies. You might be able to make homemade version that he would enjoy, but again, I would look for sodium free broth.

  2. Probably if its homemade, you don't want to much sodium in the canned soup

  3. if you feel like its ok, then feed it to him. In my books I think its way too young to feed them that much sodium.

  4. give him clear fresh homemade chicken soup (cooked in fresh tap or filtered water, with just chicken and onions for best results in relieving his cold) I wouldn't trust giving the noodles to a kid that young, but when my 9 yr. old daughter was just 5 months old, and was on my lap while I was eating chicken soup her eyes and mouth kept following my hand movements until I offered her some, and she was so excited to be eating the soup. Once she started, she never stopped. she almost finished my whole plate!!

  5. yea sure...my dr told me to wait to feed meat to my daughter until 12 months but that is only because they usually dont like it or they cant chew it.  But the chunks of meat in soup are so small i dont see why you could try to feed it to your son
