Would it be okay if I started Provera without first taking a pregnancy test?

My doctor wants me to take Provera 25 days after my period starts. I usually take a urine preg test just to be sure before I start the pills, but today I forgot. My doctor was not avaliable to answer my question today he is on vacation, and this is the month that I am supposed to start my Clomid I am curious to see if my cycle will start on it's own this month, hoping that I already ovluated and will have no problems. I just want to know if it would be okay to take them later or if I should risk it and take them now. Unfortunatly I have no way or any intentions of leaving the house tonight to go buy a hpt.

Wait until you take one just to be safe.  It can cause birth defects in a fetus (malformed genitalia, specifically) so it's really not worth the risk just because you don't want to go buy one today.  Waiting one day until you take an hpt is not going to make that much difference, but taking the pills while pregnant could make a huge difference to your baby's health.

I wouldn't take Provera without knowing for sure I wasn't already pregnant.  So if it were me, I'd leave the house and go buy an hpt or not take the pill.

Wait do not take the meds till you are sure you are no preg. i went through this before too. i would call and ask the nurses at your docs office they should be able to answer this or they will ask another doc. good luck.
