Question:

Would it be okay to feed my bearded dragon canned crickets?

Seven lakes surround my town, so fishing is kind of big this time of the year, thus causing a shortage of crickets at all my local pet stores. None of the three local pet stores have any live feeder insects the rest of the week.

Would it be okay to feed my bearded dragon canned crickets for a while?

  1. Yes. It is perfectly fine. My friend feeds his bearded dragon canned crickets all the time!

  2. The canned crickets are just perfect thats what we feed ours! Don't dust them almost always the dust is a mineral or vitamin powder. The canned are WAY better than the real i hate when them little buggers get out! EWWWW!

  3. It is okay as a temporary deal.  I personally would dust the crickets with reptical.  I am sure you pet shops have this.   It adds nutrients to the crickets.  A dead cricket cannot be as nutritious as a dead one.  Well good luck with that

  4. Yes, both freeze dried and canned crickets are fine. If you are going to feed refrigerated crickets then your gonna want to take out the can of crickets from the fridge, 1 or 2 hours before feeding. And yes you still need to dust your crickets with vitamins/calcium.
