Would it be okay to slice baklava before putting it in the oven?

my friend recommended that i slice baklava into pieces before baking it to prevent it from flaking apart when i try to slice it after baking. is this okay/recommended? any other advice for making baklava?

It is not recommended but u can sure try it that way. I should know I am in the river valley technical center at school and have taken classes to get me a cooking career for when i go to college. I suggest u check out the River Valley Technical Center On Google and check out springfield.

Yes, I think you're supposed to slice it raw... it will tear up and fall apart if you do it once the phyllo gets crispy!
